From 28 Countries to 30: The Global Reach Nobody Expected

At the end of 2014, we published a New Year's post on the AI-Therapy blog with a small holiday message in the language of every country we had users in. There were 28 of them at the time, people who had found Overcome Social Anxiety entirely on their own, no referral, no advertising campaign in most of those places, just someone searching for help at the right moment and finding a program that happened to be there.

By the time our 2019 published study analyzed real world outcomes, that number had grown to 30 countries. The largest groups of users were in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Iceland, and Canada, with the rest spread across 25 other countries around the world.

We don't have a marketing budget that explains that kind of reach. What we have is over a decade of a program built well enough that people keep finding it, using it, and it keeps turning up in the data years later as evidence, not just a nice anecdote. That's harder to fake than an ad campaign, and it's not the kind of reach a distribution deal can buy after the fact.
